PEIMQG December 2017 Potluck

The holidays are fast approaching and the weather has turned cold in the past few days, but we are still waiting for some snow to stick around so we can enjoy a "White Christmas". Before our lives get too crazy with the hustle and bustle of this festive season, we wanted to get together as a group for a fun day of laughter and games with a little sewing thrown in for good measure.

Heather J. kindly offered to host a potluck party at her beautiful home. There was so much tasty food and desserts to pick at throughout the day, we were definitely not going to starve while we enjoyed the day. The morning activities had most of us working on bindings and hand projects.

Here's Gail sharing her Christmas quilt!!

Susan also had some holiday projects to share:

Cathy was working on this Violet Craft EPP project:

Jean was binding this gorgeous quilt. I love the movement in this quilt:

Roberta was binding these vintage camper cuties!!

Selena was also binding a holiday table runner:

Velda shared her stunning "Patchwork City" quilt.

And this adorable quilt by Janice.... love the variety of fabrics! great scrap busting!!

Dianne was working on her English paper piecing project:

We all had the opportunity to choose our favorites of the completed "Round Robin" challenge. But, we wanted to share the fun with our online friends. Please vote in the poll at the bottom of the post for your favorite project:

After lunch we played Left, Right, and Center. We all brought in 10 charm squares to play with, winner takes all!!! Here are some photos of everyone playing, lots of friendly competitiveness, and laughs...

The winner of the first round was Colleen:

And Linda won the second round, They each went home with 80 squares!!! Awesome!!

Here's Heather, demonstrating her President's Challenge. The theme is "Nautical" and we will be using the solids provided in a randomly selected brown paper bag. Can't wait to see what the members of the PEIMQG come up with for this fun challenge. Stay tuned in the coming months for the results!!!

We also had 3 more Foster children quilts to add to the 44 mentioned in the previous meeting post.

That's a total of 47 quilts heading to some of PEI's Foster Children in time for Christmas!!!

We spent a great day together, enjoying each other's company. It was so nice to spend some down time with these amazing ladies!!!

The PEIMQG would like to wish everyone a Happy Holiday season, and the very best for the New Year!!
